The Bachelorette: Men Tell-All episode aired last week. As usual, I clicked on the television and hunkered down to watch this trash TV that I enjoy so much — but this episode was different. It was not the reality drama that I so badly craved. Instead, I was berated with the leftist propaganda.
As Rolling Stone put it, “Bachelorette Uses Racism as Entertainment,” but quite frankly, it was worse than that.
Being that this is the first season with a black bachelorette, it’s predictable that issues surrounding race and culture might arise. After all, racial and cultural differences are very important and should be discussed in relationships. However, what occurred was a full-blown attack on the stereo-typical “conservative” character that the ‘Hollywood Left’ conjured up and created.Advertisement
Of the hour and a half episode (not including commercials) and the almost 30 men being interviewed about their time with the bachelorette, 30 minutes — that’s one third of the entire show — were spent on Lee, a southern white male.
Lee was never overtly identified as a Republican on the show, but it was certainly implied. Just a little digging and you can find his Twitter account which reveals that he is in fact a Republican.
What should have been a couple minutes of drama turned Lee into the villain of the season. Chris Harrison and crew took it upon themselves to cleanse Lee of of his ignorant, southern, racist, conservative beliefs.Advertisement
The attacks on Lee began slowly with Kenny, a contestant who had a lot of beef with Lee, saying, “What happened with Lee didn’t feel like racism at the time.”
Then Lee’s tweets regarding the 2016 election were brought up, and things went downhill from there.
Some of Lee’s tweets included:
“Guys… When is the last time you actually saw a pretty feminist? There is a reason for this.”
“What’s the difference between the NAACP and the KKK? One has a sense of shame to cover their racist a— faces.”
“Women were meant to hang around for a few seconds these days, dogs are meant to stick around. Get a dog, boys. Get a dog.”
These tweets were all that The Bachelorette needed to focus the show on the so-called rampant racism of conservative America.
Chris Harrison asked Lee, “Do you recognize the misogyny and racism in you? Are you or were you a racist?”
Most of Lee’s responses were that he had a lot to learn and that a lot of people can learn from this as well.
A lot of people like Lee can learn from this as well? Not very subtle, Hollywood.
In order to get back into everyone’s good graces the producers of The Bachelorette had Lee apologize profusely and admit that he is an ignorant, southern, conservative who does not know anything about anything.
The exchange went like this:
Iggy: “Lee, you have a very unique opportunity to absolve yourself in front of all of us. What are you sorry about and why are you sorry?”
Lee: “I’m sorry for saying things when I was not educated and ignorant in those subjects” (cue a round of applause.)
But that wasn’t good enough! Let’s try again… this time with some prodding from the host.
Will: “‘Those things are not what is in my heart. Help me get better.’ That’s what we want to hear.”
Lee: “Those tweets are racist and I denounce them.” (another round of applause).
Wow; good job, Lee.
After this exchange, they could finally move on from the trash politics and get back to trash TV which I was expecting. Thank goodness for Hollywood’s effort to cleanse Lee of his sins. If only all the worldly and tolerant liberals could teach all of us ignorant conservatives.
Never mind the fact that conservatives are conservative because they believe in limited government, not because they are racist. Never mind that conservatives are from all over the country, not just the south. Never mind that conservative values are founded on facts and logic, rather than emotion.
The Bachelorette showed us that all conservatives are like Lee: racist, sexist, and bigoted — or at least that’s what Hollywood wants you to believe. After all, the ‘Hollywood Left’ says they know best.
